Patient Results & Testimonials

Charlene D., Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

“By the time I came to Dr. Mutti I had three bulged discs in my lower back that I had been suffering from since Spring 2007. My life has dramatically changed, affecting my health, activeness, my family, and especially my work. I had tried massage therapy, chiropractic adjustments, and physiotherapy but nothing seemed to help or relieve my pain. I was mentally preparing for surgery as an option. After my first Spinal Decompression treatment, I slept during the night, pain free, which has not happened in almost two years. After only three Spinal Decompression treatments I have noticed a huge improvement. I was more mobile and in a lot less pain. After six more treatments, I spent three hours at the water park with my children, pain-free during and more importantly, after. I have now completed nine treatments and I feel as though I have my life back. I am virtually pain free during the days and nights. It is incredible to have suffered so long and I’m back to enjoying much of life in less than a month.”

Keith J, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

“I’ve suffered from lower back pain on and off for many years and was able to obtain only temporary relief. Six years ago, I suffered from sciatic pain for four months straight before it finally subsided. Last fall, I was again stricken with sciatic pain which did not relent. Pain killers were my only relief but then my stomach suffered. After eight months of continuous suffering and being unable to walk, I read about Spinal Decompression and Dr.Paul Mutti’s clinic. I immediately went to see him along with a copy of my latest CT scan and X-rays. He was honest and straight forward; ‘You are a candidate for Spinal Decompression and after three to five treatments you can decide for yourself if it is helping you.’ We started that day and after just four treatments my pain had subsided noticeably. After two more treatments I was able to sit more comfortably and lay on my back (which I was unable to do all winter). I have now completed eleven treatments and the only pain I experience is from weak leg muscles due to increased activity (walking, etc.). I fully support this procedure and can honestly recommend that anyone with severe back pain should talk to Dr.Mutti and let Spinal Decompression Therapy help you!”

Jean G. Athabasca, Alberta, Canada

“Everything was bothering me before I began decompression. The condition bothered me for eight to ten years. Other treatments I have done were pain killers, and Chiropractic. Bending was very difficult for me. Dr. Mutti has helped me with my condition in every way. I feel much better and I now I can play with my grandchildren.”

Edward G. Athabasca, Alberta, Canada

“Since Jean has started treatment at Century Park Health Group she has been easier to get along with. She does many chores she was unable to do before. She is not only playing with the grandchildren but she is all around a lot more fun.”

Pam V. Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

“I have been getting decompression treatments for just over three months and I have noticed major improvements. My lower back is less stiff and the pain I had has reduced nearly seventy percent. My necks mobility is increasing a little more each treatment too. I would recommend decompression treatments to anyone who is having back pains or problems.”

Jonathan H. Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

“As a carpenter working in construction, I am hard on my body. Getting decompression done takes ten years off of my back. I would defiantly recommend decompression to anyone with back pain of any sort. I feel one hundred percent better every time I get treatment.” Spinal Care Canada Can Help!”

Gwen

“Hi — my name is Gwen.

“Years ago I had two very painful experiences with Chiropractors. As a result I have avoided Chiropractic clinics.

“One of my staff members told me about a pain clinic she had gone to. They had done a decompression procedure on her back and she had great success with them.

“So here is my story:

“I am writing this on my 19th week since I herniated a disc in my lower spine. I had slipped on a small piece of ice just enough to jar myself but not falling. At first I had an ache and within two weeks I had so much pain I was having trouble walking.

“At first as my back became painful I went to my family Doctor and was prescribed muscle relaxers and anti inflammatory medication. After two weeks I returned to the Doctor who extended my prescription. These meds did not relieve the severe pain I was experiencing, they “snowed” me. I was unable to focus or speak clearly. They made me very drowsy and put me to sleep. I went to a Physio Therapist for approximately three weeks who wanted me to stay bent over. Not for me.

“After these weeks of unsuccessful improvement I called my staff member at home and asked for the information of the pain clinic she had gone to.

“On Thursday April 21st I limped into the Century Park Pain and Health Clinic, the office of Dr. Curtis Woolf and Paul Mutti. Walking into the office and sitting down was painful. I was apprehensive of the treatment unknown to me. Curtis the “tall one” examined my back and my movements. He explained he was going to start me on the decompression bed.

“At this point I was still under the influence of medications I had taken the night before. I had difficulty talking and focusing from the medications. I could not take these meds in the morning to drive because I had an hour drive into Edmonton, the treatment, then another drive ahead of me to return home.

“For two visits I was unable to lay on my back, as soon as I would lie down my back would go into severe spasms. By this time Paul ‘the good looking one’ was working and both were trying to make a decision on how I could be positioned for decompression. It was determined I would lie on my side. The severe pain I was having was in the middle of my buttock, my right hip around into my groin, down the side of my leg and into my right ankle. As the pain had progressed to severe I had pins and needles and numbness from both knees down into my feet when I walked.

“For weeks I found it very painful to get on the decompression bed and then turn to my side. It was decided to do double traction pulls on me. The decompression pull itself never hurt me. I could not sit, stand, lie down, or walk very far. I was miserable.

“All the time on the progress sheets I would fill out there was a slow decrease in the severity of the pain, and the words of encouragement: ‘we can help you, this will go away’ from Paul and Curtis.

“On May 25th Paul asked me if he could try something else for my treatment. This was at the end of decompression and being in pain standing, I stopped him from explaining what he wanted to do. When I returned on May 27th I asked Paul what he wanted to try and he explained about a “gun” he could use on my back. I agree to it and he used the “gun” first before decompression and laser treatments. I had my usual drive home and stopped at work for a short time and went home. I took the prescribed meds that put me right to sleep approximately 11 am. At 6 pm. I woke up and walked into my kitchen, realizing I had no pain. I spent a quiet weekend pain free making sure I did not do anything to irritate my back.

“On Monday I walked into the clinic and for the first time was able to lie for decompression on my back. I then have laser therapy and the gun treatment. I have recovered in leaps and bound since then. I returned three times a week for two weeks then twice a week. I will be there once a week for a while and plan to be proactive too protect my back if it means a monthly visit to the pain clinic.

“The people I work with at first started to say I had color back in my face and my voice was no longer strained, and finally I was smiling and my old self. I am pretty easy to get along with.

“These two young men make an excellent professional team. Work well together or alone. They care about their clients and make sure we are safe and understand how they are going to treat us. They take the time to talk with you. Walking by, they chat with everyone creating a friendly atmosphere. I have worked in the medical field for over 35 years and one thing being lost in our busy medical system is taking the time to listen and talk. Hats off to you, you have made me a believer.”

“Dear Dr. Paul, For so many years, I have had pain of some degree in my back, neck and head. Lately, I’ve tried to get better all by myself, but (I found) it was time I called for x-rays at Century Park... I had read about (Century Park Pain & Health) several times before I called. I then went for a free consultation and (found my) need to be treated. Thank God for the clinic and dear doctor & professionals so devoted to giving people back their bodies.”

Harold H.

“I have a spinal arthritic condition that caused pain and stiffness so much that ... I would have to give up living by myself. Physiotherapy did not help, nor did medication. 10 - 12 Spinal Decompression Treatments made an enormous difference. This enabled me to go on an enjoyable tour of Israel and a baptism in the Jordan River. Thank you to Dr. Mutti and all his staff.

Marlene L.

“I have been in a great deal of pain for a few years with leg cramps, sore legs and lower back. I was taking pain medicine and tried different medicated ointment. I was not sure what to do with my situation. I was at a point where I wanted to give up. We saw an ad in The Edmonton Sun for the Pain And Health Clinic. I decide to try the treatments. After the first treatment, I was not in as much pain, followed through with laser treatment on my legs and decompression on lower back. I feel like I have my life back again. I will continue treatments as needed. Dr. Paul and staff are very helpful, I would highly recommend The Pain And Health Clinic. Dr. Paul is a very caring person, he really tries to make people better.”

The Century Park Health Clinic Team

“Having had lower back surgery due to an injury at age 39, I had accepted that pain would be a regular part of my life.

“All areas of my life were affected. Regular tasks such as cooking, cleaning, working on our dairy, even putting on socks; were now challenges. Picking up dropped objects was a major roadblock. I had to stop dairy farming. I tried massage, heat belts, physio, exercises, all with varying degrees of success, and all results were temporary.

“Eight years after surgery, I came to the conclusion that this was my life, and I’d better get used to it. I thought my pain was there to stay, so when a friend showed me the decompression ad at Century Park, I was wearily sceptical. With nothing to lose, I gave it a try, but with low expectations.

“I was never so glad to be proved so wrong! Not only did I get an incredible range of movement back, but I also got my old fluidity of movement too. No more robot walk for me.

“Now I can do a 5hr road trip (with stops) and best of all, I don’t have to pay for it in pain the next day. I tie my own shoes, cook for hours, and have recently got an off farm job. I can even dance again. My back still has its limits from the injury, but I now have a satisfying life. I can live with these limitations. My pain is 90-95% gone.

“I question the cost, but what price could I put on living this fully again. It’s so worth it to me. Life feels good again!”

Emily C.

“For many years I have suffered with a lot of lower back pain. I tried physio off and on. About 3 years ago I decided to try acupuncture after my family doctor told me no doctor or surgeon would touch my back. Acupuncture did relieve my pain for a little while but not long so it was back for more treatments. Again it didn’t last long so I lived with pain and Tylenol. A couple years ago again I went back for physio where the physiotherapist suggested (I.M.S.) “Intra Muscular Stimulation” — another needle treatment. After 3-4 treatments I felt better so I stopped treatments. It wasn’t long after my pain was back and it kept getting more severe as time went by. I was to the point where I couldn’t stand by the kitchen sink and wash dishes. My husband saw the ad in the Edmonton Journal on the Century Park and Health Clinic for spinal etc pain and suggested I give it a try. In September 2011 I started my treatment s after I had an x-ray done on my back. It was 3 treatments a week for the first 3 or 4 weeks — then 2 times a week and then once a week. After 13 treatments my back pain was gone and I felt like a new person. I had 5 more treatments once a week just to be sure. My last treatment was on December 5, 2011, I’m coming back on Jan 25, 2012 just to be sure my back pain stays in good condition. Believe it or not I can even bend to wash my hair in the bathroom sink if I need to — no back ache. I’ll keep coming back at least once every two months and have a treatment to be sure my back stays well and live free of Back Pain.”
